E3 DAY 02 – BOOTH BABE OF THE YEAR Thursday May 11th 2006
Ouch! Damn martinis! I had a bad headache this morning during hair and make-up. At least I didn’t spray black colour on my temples so I didn’t have black paint all over my body! But the dark circles are definitely there due to lack of sleep! Sniff, sniff! Cindy is feeling nauseated: the 2 Long Island iced teas were more like 4. But Jessica Cannon and Elexis Sinclaire are indestructible! So quickly we head to E3.
The day passed pretty much like the previous one, with plenty of people all over the place taking millions of pictures of us in all sorts of impossible angles.
G4 came to interview me again. It seems I was voted Booth Babe 2006. Hurray! But I wasn’t prepared and was very touched. It seems to me that my English is worse than it was the day before. Martin also filmed this and took plenty of pictures that you can view in my member zone, but also certainly on the forum for these pages. He really is an angel. Without him, I don’t know how Cindy would put her clothes on. My nails are so long that I wouldn’t be able to help her. While I am typing this journal I almost hit 2 keys at once they are so long. I would love to rip them off, but what can you do? I want to play the role of Elexis perfectly, hey hey. Which is also the reason for the green contact lenses, which are blurring my vision. I hope it at least shows a bit…
We visited the South Hall a bit more after 4 p.m. and played a few games.
But in that hall it was mostly first person shooters, and I prefer platformer games (think Mario Bros., the original!). So tomorrow during my break I’m going to go to the West Hall where Nintendo is…
Tonight I relaxed a bit but my back is killing me. It is 11 p.m. I’ll have to sleep all day to get my normal eyes back. The lines are etching into my face as though I had been doing the salsa for 48 hours! Tomorrow is the last day of E3, and the last day for Elexis. Well, for now at least.
E3 DAY 03 – FINAL SPRINT Friday May 12th 2006
Even though we went to bed at around 11 p.m., waking up was still difficult. Long live blush and foundation! But despite being tired, my moral was high, and so were Cindy and Martin’s. After all, today was the last day for E3 and even though I am not a hardcore gamer, I enjoy the games and E3 has such a frivolous energy that I will miss. I will also miss playing Elexis. But I already have plenty of ideas for shoots in my head…
After the usual routine, which has greatly improved over the past 3 days (hair and make-up,) we jumped in a taxi and got to the Ritual kiosk for 11 a.m. For an hour we posed for and with people and we also did an interview with MTV, for whom the host was dressed as some sort of monkey mascot.
I thought he was a bit nonchalant in his way of asking questions, but maybe he was hung-over from the Sony party the night before? Then, during our lunch break, the 3 of us head over to the other pavilion where Nintendo’s kiosk was. We knew there would be a huge line to get in because Nintendo was displaying the Wii, its new console, and we didn’t think we’d be able to get in. But we had underestimated the power of latex :) Nintendo’s security guards liked our outfits so much that they let us, including Martin, go ahead of everyone! And I must say, what a booth! Circular with lights everywhere, and Mario Bros, my friend :) But we didn’t have time to play, just to watch here and there. It was both relaxing and stressful because we were pressed for time; our next appearance was at 1 p.m. Also, it seems Paris Hilton was also at the booth signing autographs. Obviously, she must have been following us! Hey hey!
In all, we did 4 appearances today for a total of 2 and a half hours of posing. There were some photographers who must have taken 300 pictures, which I thought was overdoing it a bit. I really wonder where these photos are going to end up…
One funny thing that happened while we were posing is that we met two players for the Steelers football team, who were dead set on posing with us.
Cindy was really excited, because she is a big football fan. They thought it was funny because they too were really excited. They waited 15 minutes for us to come back from our break in order to take pictures with us, each of them holding one of us in their powerful arms. And then, another funny thing that happened, for those who are fans of the American TV show Survivor, the most hated contestant of all time, Johnny Fairplay, came to pose with us also. There was also a television show from Portugal that came to interview us in English as good as mine (giggle) and the day ended well with a 4000$ computer being awarded to the player who scored the highest in Arena mode in the Sin Episodes game. He was pretty happy about it, but also tired from having to play for all 3 days in order to maintain the highest score. Oh yeah, Cindy also visited tons of booths to get all the t-shirts that were being offered. She is going to need another suitcase for all the stuff she is bringing back for her boyfriend!
I am now at the hotel, where I am writing you a few lines. I am finally no longer wearing Elexis’ long red nails, so typing is once again fast and easy. Tonight we are going to a chic restaurant with Tom. Everyone from Ritual and Logitech was impressed by the work we did during these 3 days. After all, we weren’t satisfied with just looking pretty, we also got into character, which is different from the other booth babes that I saw. So tonight, we relax. No latex this time, but I couldn’t resist my high hells, hey hey hey…
E3 DAY 04 – HOLLYWOOD, HERE WE COME! Saturday May 13th 2006
In the end, after supper last night at an excellent steakhouse, the Ritual team and the 3 of us were in the mood to go dancing. We first went to a hotel where it seems the club is really amazing.
From what I understand, people in L.A go out to a lot of hotels, which is pretty different from Montreal. We also realized that the clubs are not open to everyone. You have to be well known, or a member of a given club. And so we, the wannabes (hey hey,) weren’t able to get into the club at the hotel. Especially since we were just 2 girls with 10 guys! So we decided to head back to Sunset Boulevard (where the House of Blues is) where the next club was full to bursting and we were once again denied access. I was really filled with both a sense of injustice and surprise. It’s like you have to know the right people. Here, it’s all about who you know. Finally, the next club we went to, Miagi’s, let us in. The club, although more modest than the previous 2, was still really cool, with a wild dance floor. I danced almost till closing (2 a.m., which seems pretty early for a place like L.A.) and was rubbed up against by almost everything on 2 legs! It’s crazy how much the guys flirt in L.A.! They are always coming up from behind to grind against you! I don’t think I like that much. Let’s say I am not used to people rubbing up against me so much. Montreal is a city where the women are really independent, and because of this the men, I have to admit, have trouble flirting. But nonetheless, I think there can be a happy medium between L.A. and where I live. Anyhow, I had a lot of fun and since my feet were dead and Cindy and Martin were exhausted, we went back to the hotel for a good night’s sleep.
Of course since we’d been waking up at 7 a.m. all week, even though I wanted to sleep in I woke up at 8:30 a.m. ready to run a marathon (OK, maybe not that alert.) After a coffee in the lobby bar, and a bit of lazing about on the couches, I went back to my room to wake up my two companions, who were actually still in their beds chatting away in the dark.
After Cindy wrote her blog for Branchez-vous, we went to go meet Tom, Richard, Dave, and Robert at the restaurant in the Holiday Inn near our hotel, where we ate 20$ hamburgers (A bit much for 2 pieces of bread and a chunk of beef!) Afterwards, Tom and Richard had to leave to go catch their flight, which was leaving a little later on in the day. Since Dave and Robert had nothing planned that day, the 5 of us went to drive around in the Jeep that Robert had rented. We of course ended up on the classic Hollywood Walk of Fame, which Cindy had never seen, and where she was able to get a Boondocks shirt for her boyfriend, and I got a pair of bubblegum pink ankle boots (Hurray!) We then went to Santa Monica to do some window-shopping and to walk along the pier, which has roller coasters on it. I finally consented to join the other 4 on a Ferris wheel, even though I knew I would freeze since it was really windy. Luckily I had my plush toy Scrat that Martin and Cindy won for me at one of the carnival games (They each won once, and so were able to combine their wins and get a bigger toy, and so they took Scrat, the unlucky squirrel from Ice Age.) After that it was really time to go warm up in a restaurant nearby, and to take the opportunity to eat something. For me, it was a salad. In general I find that American restaurants don’t really offer a lot of healthy choices so I end up eating salad. And the portions are so huge! It’s crazy how much waste that makes!
It is now 11 p.m. and we are in the hotel room. Dave and Robert went out to dance at a club, but we were too tired to go with them. I want to finish this journal by saying how fantastic this trip and this adventure was for me. Seeing Tom again, playing the role of Elexis, getting photographed on the red carpet…and all that with Cindy and Martin, these are unforgettable moments! Thank you Ritual Entertainment!! Thanks Tom!
